Monogram Canvas Papillon 26 Handbag

The classic rounded shape of the Louis Vuitton Monogram Canvas Papillon 26 Handbag with two handle straps is supposed to take the form and spirit of the butterfly (Papillon). Made of durable coated monogram canvas with natural cowhide leather trim and gold metal details. It was originally designed by Henri Vuitton in 1966 and has become one of the most endearing bags of Louis Vuitton’s collection.

The classic Monogram Canvas has been Louis Vuitton’s trademark design since it was first introduced in 1896. The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram, were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented.

Condition: pre-owned 6.5/10 approximate state. The exterior is clean and in good condition with a few light white scuffs. The leather trim is in lovely honey patina with signs of wear to the bottom edges and piping. The handles have some dirt to the underside. The goldtone metal details has scratches and is flaking. The interior has light signs of wear but is overall clean and in good condition.
